Events will run a series of races designed to highlight the various performance aspects of Human Powered Boats.  Certain types of boats will excel at specific events and not do as well at others.  An event scoring system is designed to determine the best overall performer.

This is just a sample of the typical races run during an event.  It's by no means a complete list, but should give you an idea of what goes on at HPB events.  There are also a slew of "Captain's Surprise" races that can be funny, silly, or practical and will bring a whole different set of boat features to light.
